Abstract:
This Atlantic Salmon Trust (AST) Blue Book is divided in three sections: I. general; II. research and III. progress of appeal. Section I describes drift netting; "hang" netting and monofilament; law of the Sea Conference; research and education, work sponsored by the Trust; restoration of salmon; definition of Grilse; the salmon's history. Section II regarding to research summarised scientific articles: "movements of salmon (salmo salar L.) to and from Irish Waters" by A.E.J. Went; "the upstream migratory behaviour of salmonids in the River Frome, Dorset" by J.M. Hellawell, H. Leatham and G.I. Williams and "effects of the Greenland Fishery for Atlantic salmon on Canadian stocks" by J.E. Paloheimo and P.F. Elson.
