Abstract:
The NRA undertook a survey of all sea defences around the coast of England and Wales during 1990 and 1991. The survey has created for the first time an extensive database about the sea defences around England and Wales. The survey was undertaken in three phases, each phase being defined by the organisation responsible for the maintenance of a defence. The phases were: Phase 1 - NRA defences; Phase 2 - Local Authority defences; Phase 3 - Private or Corporately owned defences.
