This regional review illustrates what we have achieved in North East Region in 1998/1999, what the Environment Agency do routinely to improve the local environment and what our future priorities are (summarised in the Regional General Manager's foreword). By publishing this document we aim to inform a wide audience, including local authorities, industry, secondary schools, libraries, MPs and Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), about our role in the environment as a regulator, operator and adviser so that they can interact with the EA more easily.
