Abstract:
The National Rivers Authority has published recently a report: "The Quality of Rivers, Canals and Estuaries in England and Wales, which gives the results of a major survey carried out during 1990 by the NRA to assess the quality of rivers, canals, and estuaries in England and Wales. The previous survey of this type published in 1985, was organised by the Department of the Environment and undertaken by the Regional Water Authorities. These notes summarise the quality of rivers and estuaries in Northumbria Region and include schedules indicating the class of each stretch of river in 1985 and 1990.
