Title: National Rivers Authority corporate plan, 1990/91
Author: National Rivers Authority
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
This is the Authoritys first Corporate Plan. It sets out the Authoritys aims, objectives and targets and describes how the Authority will use its resources over the next four years to succeed in its mission as Guardians of the Water Environment. The Plan is divided into five main sections: background information on the NRA; the Authoritys approach to corporate planning; the Authoritys key objectives; programmes and plans for each core function and support service; use of resources and future performance. Throughout the plan, considerable emphasis is placed upon the Authoritys varying inheritances from the ten Regional Water Authorities (RWAs). This has presented many opportunities and challenges as the Authority strives to become a fully integrated national body. The key objectives are: water resources, pollution control, flood defence, fisheries, recreation, conservation and navigation.
