This annual report outlines the work under taken by conservation staff within the Northumbria and Yorkshire Region of the National Rivers Authority during 1994/95. The work of conservation is underpinned by three main strategic objectives; assess and monitor the conservation interest of inland and coastal waters and associated lands; ensure that the NRA's regulatory, operational and advisory activities take full acount of the need to sustain and further conservation; promote conservation to enhance the quality of the aquatic and related environment for the benefit of wildlife and people.
