Abstract:
The Final Plan is a strategic policy framework for the management of the catchment. It includes an action plan to achieve the vision for the Blythe/Cole/Bourne Catchment and can be read in conjunction with the Consultation Document. The action plan will form the basis for improvements to the water environment by ou tlining the areas of work and investment proposed by the NRA and others. The Avon Catchment, draining an area of approximately 2,900 km, is mostly rural in character with a population of over 900,000. The river, with its great natural beauty, is a major amenity and the local economy benefits greatly from the associated tourism.
