Abstract:
This Catchment Management Plan Consultation Report covers the River Tone and all its tributaries. These drain to it from Exmoor and the Quantock Hills in the west and north and from the Blackdown Hills in the south and east. The report also includes the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. This report describes the physical features and factors such as geology and climate for the catchment. In particular, it describes: the activities in the catchment which affect the water environment and the uses made of water; the NRAs objectives and targets for the water environment, described under four headings water quality, water quantity, physical features and flood defence; the state of the catchment in relation to the four categories of objectives.
