Author: R.J. Broome

Abstract:
River water quality is monitored in 32 catchments in the region. Samples are collected at a minimum frequency of once a month from 418 watercourses at 878 locations within the Regional Monitoring Network. Each sample is analysed for a range of chemical and physical determinands. These sample results are stored in the Water Quality Archive. A computerised system assigns a quality class to each monitoring location and associated upstream river reach. This report contains the results of the 1991 river water quality
classifications for each determinand used in the classification process.
