Title: Lower Witham catchment management plan : consultation report : June 1995
Author: National Rivers Authority Anglian Region

Abstract:
The NRA has chosen to develop the concept of Catchment Management Planning to help it achieve its aims. A Catchment Management Plan (CMP) treats a river, together with the land, tributaries and underground water connected with it, as a discrete unit or catchment. The approach considers all major uses which impact upon the water environment in a catchment. It seeks to identify and resolve problems within the catchment in an integrated way, developing a partnership approach, where appropriate, towards dealing with those problems. This document marks the start of that process by inviting the public and all organisations with an interest in the water environment to comment on its contents, to identify their concerns for the Lower Witham Catchment and to suggest any options for their solutions. The Lower Witham Catchment includes some of the most productive and intensively farmed arable land in England.
