Title: Ely catchment management plan : action plan (bilingual) : 1995
Author: National Rivers Authority Welsh Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
The Ely catchment is relatively small yet supports a large number of uses. Industry and urban development occur particularly in its uppermost and lowest reaches. Consequently the river is heavily used for sewage effluent disposal. Sheep and dairy farming
is the principal land use in rural areas. This CMP Action Plan sets out issues and actions specific to this catchment which have been agreed within the framework of these Guidance Notes. Later in this plan we discuss how the concerns of the water environment should influence the location and nature of development and land use change within the catchment.
