The Upper Wye Catchment Management Consultation Report is the NRA's assessment of the state of the catchment and identifies the key issues which need to be resolved. The most important are outlined in the tables at the end of this summary report. The Plan considers the upper part of the River Wye catchment including its tributaries and lakes from the source of the river down to Hay on Wye. It is mainly in the county of Powys. The lower Wye catchment will be covered in a subsequent document. The River Wye rises on Plynlimon in the Cambrian Mountains and winds its way through an area displaying upland scenery and deep cut valleys.
