Title: Advisory committee for Wales first annual report 1991
Author: National Rivers Authority Welsh Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
The Advisory Committee for Wales has been in existence for just over a year in a period which has witnessed exciting changes in environmental policies, some of the most important of which have resulted from the developing role of the recently established NRA and of the setting out of the Government's priorities in the Environment White Paper. As a result the Committee has had no difficulty in finding significant issues to discuss. The question of the Committee's immediate workload has been resolved by the Prime Minister. The speech announcing the setting up of an Environment Agency was made, fortuitously, on the day that the Committee last met. My colleagues on the Committee and I will consider the details of the proposals set out in the consultation paper and give our
considered advice on the various options to the Secretary of State.
