Abstract:
This brief National Rivers Authority leaflet describes the consultation stage of the Upper Thames Catchment Management Plan. The Consultation Report has been prepared as a means of undertaking detailed consultation with all interested parties. The Upper Thames catchment lies within Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. It includes the complete length of the River Thames upstream of St Johns Lock and various tributaries including the Rivers Leach, Coin, Churn, Ray and Cole. The catchment has an area of approximately 1000 Km2, 9% of Thames Regions total area. The area is predominantly rural with a high quality landscape most notably the Cotswolds in the north of the catchment.
