Abstract:
Micro Low Flows is a computer based software system for estimating theoretical flow statistics for individual river reaches. Version 1.1 was purchased from the Institute of Hydrology on March 18th 1991 and has been subject to a series of tests designed to identify errors, limitations and possible improvements. Serious errors included inaccuracies in the calculation of flow statistics and the failure of the system during plotting due to more than a preset number of files being open at any one time. These problems should be corrected in version 1.2. It is hoped that several of the recommendations outlined in section 6 of this document will be incorporated into versions 1.2 and 1.3. Overall, the system is relatively easy to use and will improve the support provided by Water Resources Planning to achieve various corporate targets.
