The following report has been commissioned by the Environment Agency (Southern Region). The Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) is one o f Britain’s most threatened breeding birds. The population size and dynamics are described on the Isle of Wight and in Hampshire, ecological factor are discussed and distribution analyzed.
