Abstract:
The NRA Southern Region has initiated an exercise to prepare integrated River Catchment Management
Plans on a pilot basis for six of its significant catchments. It is intended that there should be full consultation with interested outside organisations, as well as with the general public, before these are published in definitive form. This document results from extensive internal study and consultation. The catchment management plan is split into four sections, the first describes the general characteristics of the catchment. The second provides a local perspective, the third outlines environmental objectives and the final section covers environmental requirements for the catchment and rivers.
