Abstract:
This paper describes the overall position for River Water Quality achieved against objectives for 1992 and compares this with the situation in 1991. It has been compiled on NWC Criteria as the Quality Assessment Scheme For Rivers proposed by the NRA a part of the SWQO Scheme, is currently at public consultation following the publication of the Government's paper on River Quality. The Appendices include a full listing of quality status for all classified reaches in 1992 together with a detailed breakdown of improvements and deteriorations from the 1991 position. A detailed report on Bathing Water Quality in 1992 is also appended.
