Abstract:
This is the report of a brief study ccomissioned by the NRA, (National
Rivers Authority), Southern Region, into the documents and files in the
Flood Defence Department with a view to producing a suitable filing index.
The Southern Region covers Kent, Sussex, the Isle of Wight, most of
Hampshire and part of Surrey. The Flood Defence Department is responsible for 300 km of sea defences
and the alleviation of flooding by all rivers in the region.
