Author: National Rivers Authority
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
Throughout the UK and Europe the number of reported water pollution incidents involving trace organic contaminants is increasing. This together with tightening legislative controls on water quality and improvements in the technology that assists in the detection and measurement of trace organic pollutants in water means that the need for monitoring these substances is essential. This review will concentrate on an evaluation of bioaccumulation as an approach to detecting and monitoring trace organic pollutants.
