Abstract:
The Southern Water Authority Land Drainage Byelaws 1981 are the Land Drainage Byelaws in force in the Southern
Region of the National Rivers Authority (NRA). They were made by the Southern Water Authority under Section 34 of the Land Drainage Act 1976 as confirmed by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on 4 October 1982, and came into operation on 4 November 1982. On 1 September 1989 they were enforceable by the NRA by virtue of the provisions of the Water Act 1989 and since 1 December 1991 they have been enforceable by virtue of provisions of the Water Consolidation (Consequential Provisions) Act 1991 Schedule 2.
