Abstract:
This document describes methods, results and conclusions of a study to evaluate the impacts of
alternative river maintenance strategies on the River Yarty and Sir Arthur's Pill in the South
Western Region. Its main purposes are to provide supporting information for R and D Note 456
River Maintenance Evaluation and to provide data which support routines for the prioritisation
and programming of river maintenance. The report includes a background of the river, results of a farm survey, hydrological and hydraulic information, details of land drainage, a scheme appraisal, environmental information and a conclusion. Two appendices are given, the first is an example of input and output data for the waterable model and the second is a river corrdior survey.
