Title: Water quality survey of London Docks
Author: National Rivers Authority
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
Many of the projects undertaken and planned within the area of the LDDC make a feature of the
water environment. It is therefore important to ensure that the quality of the water is appropriate
for the envisaged use and to ensure that the quality can be maintained. These objectives form the subject of this study which includes the development of a long term treatment and management strategy. This is the first dock wide study to be undertaken, which will investigate the mechanisms that affect the changes in water quality. A mathematical model is to be developed to assist with the management of the docks, and also to predict changes in water quality which may result from developers proposals. This Stage 1 report describes the result from the one complete initial round of water sampling and analysis. The results have been used to formulate proposals for the second stage of the study.
