Title: Pesticides in the aquatic environment : regional data appendix : prepared by the National Centre for Toxic and Persistent Substances (TAPS)
Author: National Rivers Authority Anglian Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
This data appendix is issued in support of the NRA's Water Quality Series Report No. 26
'Pesticides in the Aquatic Environment'. It should be read in conjunction with the report.
The data show all pesticides which exceeded a 0.1 mg/1 standard in each of the eight NRA
Regions in 1992 and 1993, for surface freshwaters, estuaries and coastal waters and
groundwaters. These waters are not necessarily used to supply drinking water and the results do
not reflect the quality of drinking water from the tap where a limit o f 0.1 (mg/1 is specified in the
Drinking Water Directive. Treated drinking water data are given in the Annual Report of the
Drinking Water Inspectorate.
The tables show the total number of samples taken, the range of limits of detection used
in the analysis, the percentage of samples in which the pesticide was detected and the percentage
detected above 0.1 mg/1, and also the 95 percentile.
