Abstract:
Catchment management plans are a vehicle to achieve improvements in the water environment. By using public consultation they will allow input from others and provide commitment from all parties to achieving action on important issues. This is the fourth such Plan produced in the Anglian Region. The Ely Ouse Catchment is a combination of seventeen sub-catchments, covering 2510 km2, which reflect the diversity of topograghy within the area. It has a population of approximately 272,000, with extensive road and rail networks throughout.
