Title: Ligula intestinalis
Description: Ligula intestinalis from the tapeworm order Pseudophyllidea. As a procercoid larva this parasite uses copepods as the first intermediate host, the plerocercoid larva is parasitic in the body cavity of cyprinid fishes and the definitive hosts can be piscivorous birds or mammals.This image is a plerocercoid larva taken from the body cavity of a cyprinid fish.
