Title: Darwell Transfer Scheme. Final Report Part II. Location of the draw-off tower in the Darwell Reservoir
Author: J. Hilton
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
In an earlier section of this report, attention was drawn to the fact that the present draw off tower in the Darwell reservoir was positioned where it would be exposed to increased concentrations of algae due to wind blown algae. A diagram was presented of the percentage of time to which any position at the eastern end of the reservoir would be exposed to winds of the correct speed and direction to create localised increased algal concentration. In order to explain the methodology two simplified examples of this type of diagram are given.
