Coarse fishes

Definition (http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Leisure/Coarse_fish_advisory_booklet.pdf)

The term “coarse fish” means all freshwater fish found in the British Isles other than trout, sea trout and salmon. Most rare ?sh and exotic or non-native species are also excluded. Coarse fish were once commonly referred to as “rough fish” because on occasions some of them developed rough skin; we now know that a number of coarse fish, for example roach, bream and dace, temporarily develop pimples or “tubercles” over the body before spawning.
