Soil water-filled pore space

Water-filled pore space (WFPS) is the ratio of volumetric soil water content to total soil porosity. A soil’s WFPS is determined simply from its bulk density and moisture content, because particle and water densities are stable at ~2.6 and 1 kg/l respectively.
